The gestures of the hands raised in protest and the panning of a flag can be found in Thomas Dworzaks image from Georgia, which he took up in October 2000 in the Pankisi Valley and that shows Chechen refugees demonstrate against the Russian Government (fig. 7). Even if the formal image resources of both photographs offer much match, Dworzaks photography symbolically for a very different conflict, as well as the photography is by Magnum photographer Abbas from 1979, shows the armed protesters outside the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, but with the arms outstretched and to see the camera points given banners, of which one shows the statue of liberty, as well to the known iconography (fig. 8).
