So wurde beispielsweise eine Farbfotografie des französischen Fotografen JeanMarc Bouju zum ,World Press Photo‘ des Jahres 2003 gewählt (Abb. 13). Boujus Bild zeigt einen inhaftierten Iraker, der seinen vier Jahre alten Sohn in einem Kriegsgefangenenlager
in der Nähe von Nadschaf im Irak tröstet und beschützt. Besondere Dramatik erhält
das Bild durch einen Sack, der dem inhaftierten Vater über den Kopf gestülpt wurde, und
durch die Bildkomposition, die die Betrachter die Szene durch eine Stacheldrahtabsperrung sehen lässt – ein Hinweis darauf, dass dem Fotografen als Zeugen die Situation nicht ohne Weiteres zugänglich gewesen sein mag. Auch das ,World Press Photo‘ des Jahres 2004 setzt auf die Vermittlung von Emotionen (Abb. 14).
